💬 Communication
Good communication is the cornerstone of good teamwork. Clear, consistent, and open communication is what keeps us aligned, helps us move fast, and ensures no one is left in the dark. When we communicate well, we don’t just get work done—we build trust, avoid unnecessary friction, and make it possible for everyone to do their best work.
☝️ Principles
Section titled “☝️ Principles”- Keep messages concise but complete. Provide enough context so others can act without chasing for details.
- Assume positive intent. We’re all working toward the same goals. Read messages with generosity and respond constructively.
- Default to transparency. Share information openly unless there’s a clear reason not to.
- Use the right channel. Quick updates or questions? Use Slack. Complex or long-form? Consider a doc or scheduled call.
- Over-communicate blockers. If something’s slowing you down, flag it early. It’s better to share too soon than too late.
- Confirm decisions in writing. After calls or meetings, summarize key decisions or action items in Slack to avoid confusion.
- Respect focus time. If something isn’t urgent, consider using scheduled messages or marking it as “not urgent” so teammates can respond without breaking deep work.
